  • Wow, GroundFloor is finally back online with a new host. The domain has changed obviously, as well as a lot of other things. The SRT4 was sold, The blue EVO was broken into and stripped and then returned to its former condition, the white EVO went head-on into a cement pole and should be back on the road shortly, the Avenger is still acting like a Dodge and continues breaking parts, and the STi is actually beginning to be modded. The only thing that has remained the same is the Z, which still sits unfinished in the garage. The website will hopefully be back up 100% here shortly, will have to update a lot of the code as the switch to a new host has thrown in a lot of mistakes, especially with pointing to stuff that is now located somewhere else. Keep checking back for updates.

05/16/04 :

  • The SRT4 laid down it's highest numbers to date at the 2004 Florida Neons meet in Tampa this last weekend. The car laid down 430whp and 450wtq. The car is still untuned and should have no problem of meeting our goal of 450+whp on this turbo. In fact, 500whp on this Schwitzer turbo may be our new goal before going bigger.

05/13/04 :

  • The Avenger tranny swap is complete. The a604 has been replaced with the NVT-350 5spd manual. The 3.55 variant from the SOHC Neon was choosen over the usual 3.94 that came in the Avenger/Sebring/2gNT platform. The lower gearing should help with traction, and the Neon trans also has a lower 5th gear which will help highway mileage. The bellhousing from the A/S/2gNT was mated to the Neon trans to retain the hydraulic clutch setup in favor of the neon's cable clutch. A Spec Stage 3 clutch was installed at this time also. All other swap parts came mostly from a 95 Eclipse donor car, including the new center console in the Avenger.

02/18/04 :

  • Just received word on the Avenger's tranny. Problem is definitely internal, and most likely the cause is the 3rd gear gear hub has been sheared off. All of the upgrade parts have held up to the added power, but it seems the gear hub wasn't quite up to the task of putting 20psi to the ground. The tranny will not be fixed. Instead a 5 spd will be going in and the atx will be parted out. Send any parts inquiries to avengr1995@aol.com.

02/10/04 :

  • The 2004 Central Florida Supra Meet in Orlando was a great success. Many thanks to the supra guys for all being very cool guys and great hosts, especially to Mike aka MTR for setting up the whole thing. The meet has been added to the Events page, and pics and vids will be added as they come in. GroundFloor should be well represented at the next big meet as soon as Sherbaz's Supra is on the road.

02/09/04 :

  • We've added another member. Bilal and his 2003 SRT-4 have joined the ranks. The car has already laid down over 350wtq, but look for a lot more from this project in the future.

01/29/04 :

  • After burning up the stock clutch, the blue EVO is back on the road now. An ACT 2100 clutch is now in the car. The modding can now continue. Expect a bit more out of both the blue and white EVOs very soon.

01/10/04 :

  • The Avenger tranny is down again. A little advise: Never put a dime into a car that uses a Chrysler A604 ATX. The Avenger only has first and second gear currently, enough to get around when needed, but forget about cruising above 40mph, and since the car spins the tires until somewhere around 50mph, any fun is quickly shortlived since second is at redline around 70mph. Current plans are up in there air, depending on what exactly is the problem. If it is just a burnt solenoid pack, computer, etc then the atx will stay. If the problem is internal or more serious, expect to see some atx parts up for sale when a 5 spd swap is completed.

09/09/03 :

  • GroundFloorMotorsports.com is now back online. Instead of simply throwing up the old outdated website, we will be putting together an all new layout. Please bare with us as the new website is being created, thanks.

09/07/03 :

  • Ryan's Avenger is back on the road after the spun rod bearing (pic here). One of the Saenz rod caps was badly blued and thus brittle from the heat (pic here). In interest of getting the car back asap, a set of Eagle rods were put in instead of having a replacement Saenz rod made. When pulling the motor apart, we found that whoever had assembled the motor previously installed the main bearings 180* opposite of how they were meant to be. The block and bedplate were line-honed to spec. A new crank, new main and rod bearings, new Melling high-flow oil pump and all new bottom-end seals were all installed at this time. A 160* thermostat will also be installed.
  • While the motor was out, a HD3000 Torque Convertor was also installed. The HD3000 is a custom built torque convertor by Hughes, available only through Exile Racing Tech. The Hughes piece combines raised torque multiplier, custom stator, hardened splines, etc. It is avialable with any stall speed desired: We went with a 3000 rpm stall for Ryan's Avenger. ERT is currently working with Hughes developing the technology for this application, and Ryan's car is 1 of 3 currently running this torque convertor.
  • We will not be abandoning the Saenz rods completely, but instead are planning on building a spare block for later use. Plans call for a Saenz/CP or Saenz/Arias rod/piston combo to be run with a turbo upgrade sometime in the future.

09/06/03 :

  • We have a new member. Richie Pachori, brother of S2000 owner Zubin, has joined the ranks. Pics and info of his new ride will be posted soon, along with all new updates on everyone elses cars.

08/27/03 :

  • Ian has dropped the turbo Focus project. A new car proved to be more attractive than a fwd turbo hatchback. The Focus has returned to stock and a new Weightless White EVO VIII has taken its place in the GroundFloor line-up.
